January 28-29, 2002 at GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam
The second workshop of the COST Action 716: "Exploitation of Ground-Based GPS for Climate and Numerical Weather Prediction Applications" was held on January 28-29, 2002 at the GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (GFZ).
In conjunction with the workshop, the COST Action was held a Management Committee Meeting on January 30, 2002 at the same venue.
| Session 1: | Results in ground-based GPS meteorology |
| Session 2: | Near real-time demonstration networks for ground-based GPS meteorology |
| Session 3: | Development of assimilation methods and the impact of GPS data in Numerical Weather Prediction |
| Session 4: | Combination of GPS with other data and integration into meteorological observation systems |
Sessions 2, 3 and 4 will be thematic sessions directly related to the work of COST-716 and similar projects. Each session is opened by one or two keynote speakers, followed by discussions on the results obtained so far and lessons learned, and the future short- and long-term goals.
The first session is a general session, open for all contributions dealing with ground based meteorology using GPS, that do not fit in either of the other sessions.
Note that the workshop follows directly after the First CHAMP Science Meeting where Friday, January 25 has been reserved for applications of CHAMP occultation observations.
For the Organizing Committee:
Gunnar Elgered, chair of the COST 716 Action
Christoph Reigber, workshop coordinator
